Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

 

How Do I authorize Mustang to communicate with someone other than myself regarding detailed account information?

We must have a letter from the original Owner stating the Name, Address, Telephone and Email Address of the person to be given account access. Any and all such letters must have a signature to be effective.

 

When will checks be mailed and/or direct deposited this month?

We currently make every effort to mail and/or direct deposit checks as follows:

Mustang Gas Products LLC:

Ringwood system 20 th of the month following production

Rodman, Dover-Hennessey & Binger systems 25 th of the month following production

Mustang Fuel Corporation 25 th of the 2 nd month following production

Mustang Fuel Marketing Company last day of the month following production

 

If these dates fall on a holiday or weekend, payments will be made on the next business day.

 

Can you withhold federal and/or state tax on my behalf?

We only withhold federal and/or state tax when it is either requested by the particular state or at the instruction of the IRS. We do not voluntarily withhold funds related to taxes.

 

If I need to contact you by phone or e-mail, what information would be helpful to process my inquiry?

Your payee or owner number would be very helpful.

Listed below are some common situations that result in either a change of ownership or a change to owner status. The right column describes the document(s) required to effect the change. Certificate of Name Change including Tax ID

Company or corporation’s name changes due to a merger

Certificate of Merger including Tax ID

Appointment of Attorney-In-Fact

Copy of Power of Attorney

SALE OF AN INTEREST

Conveyance document describing the land being conveyed, filed of record in the county or parish in which the property is located. Provide name, address and Tax ID number of new owner

CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP DUE TO DIVORCE

Complete Divorce Decree including Settlement Agreement, recorded conveyances (if appropriate)

TRUSTS / PARTNERSHIPS

Trust or Partnership is created

Trust or Partnership Agreement and, if appropriate, recorded document conveying the interest in a property to a Trust or Partnership

Trust or Partnership is terminated

Dissolution of Trust or Partnership and, if appropriate, recorded conveyances to beneficiary

Changes in Trustee

Instrument whereby the successor trustee was appointed

  • All payees are required to provide a social security, or tax identification number or Federal Law requires tax withholding.

 

  • All changes of ownership must be filed of record in the County / Parish where the property is located.

 

  • Laws of agency preclude us from providing forms for conveying real property interests. However, you may contact an attorney, Legal Aid Society, or your local Bar Association for assistance in handling these matters.

 

  • Address changes cannot be handled by telephone. A written request is required.

 

  • Retain your check detail for future reference.
