J-W Operating Company operates wells and properties for various working interest owners. J-W Operating Company is responsible for royalty check distribution for some or all of these working interest owners. It is imperative our owner's information is correct and up to date. However, it is the owner's responsibility to notify J-W Operating Company when changes occur. (i.e. change of address, change of ownership, a death, etc.)
The majority of inquiries we receive specifically address transfers of interest and address changes. Address changes are usually implemented the day we receive written notice. Transfers of interest are analyzed for appropriate documentation before we can implement the transfer in our system. Due to the high volume of transfers and the time required for title and account analysis, it could take up to 30 days before completion of transfer.
Listed below are some common situations that results in either a change of ownership or a change to owner status. The right column describes the document(s) required to effect the change. Due to varying state laws there might be times when additional information is required. All changes must be submitted in writing to:

- All changes of ownership must be filed or recorded in the County/Parish where the property is located.
- Address changes cannot be handled by telephone. A written request is required. Click here for a copy of the Change of Address Form.
- The law of agency prevents us from providing forms for conveying real property interests. However, you may contact an attorney, Legal Aid Society, or your local Bar Association for assistance in handling these matters.
